What to expect

My aim is to provide you with ongoing support and care, offering tailored lifestyle and dietary advice to optimise your well-being and help you achieve long-lasting results.

  • First session (up to 1h30)

We begin with a comprehensive consultation to fully understand your health concerns and medical history. This enables me to create a personalised treatment plan that addresses your unique needs. Then we proceed to the acupuncture treatment itself, which may include complementary techniques such as moxibustion, gua sha, cupping, to enhance the therapeutic effects.

  • Follow-up treatments (up to 1h)

We review your progress, discuss any changes in your symptoms or overall health, and proceed to the acupuncture treatment itself. Each treatment will build upon the previous one, with the goal of further enhancing your body's natural healing capabilities.

It is advised to wear loose and comfortable clothes , but it is not essential.

  • The effect of Acupuncture can be different according to the condition treated. In cases of pain relief the effect can be immediate or take a couple of days. Sometimes the patient can experience a healing crisis, which means the symptoms get worse for a day or two before getting better. This will be discussed during your treatment.

  • The number of treatments varies depending on many factors like constitution and whether the condition is acute or chronic. After our first consultation, I’ll give you an idea of how many sessions may be needed. While everyone responds differently, most people notice progress within two to three treatments.

  • Acupuncture may present some very mild side effects. At times a tiny bruise can form where the needle has been inserted. Cupping and Gua Sha may be used during an acupuncture treatment. Cupping leaves a bruise that usually fades after a day, but can last for up to six weeks. The same time length is applied to the mark caused by Gua Sha.
